BUSINESS ANALYST

  • Perm OR Contract to Perm Role – 1 year to start, with definite possibility of extension 
  • Hybrid: 2 days a week on site (Markham & Toronto)
  • Start: Mid April 2024
  • Level:  Senior (May be open to strong Intermediates)

Overview:

Our client has a center of excellence for business analyst roles, and they’re seeking an experienced BA for larger capital projects and to provide some guidance and advice for these projects coming up. They need someone who is strong at dealing with requirements and stakeholder documentation.

This person will be dealing with projects such as meter to bill and the digital space. They have large capital projects coming up as well as smaller projects, and this role will involve business processes, documentation, requirements gathering, and process mapping.  Some of the projects are in Waterfall and the direction they received is to take more Agile approaches. With that said, regulatory is more structured.  They want a senior person who can hit the ground running and are ideally looking for someone with 8-10 yeas’ experience  (no less than 5 years).

About the Role:

Job Function:

  • Contribute business insights to support relevant Customer Service – Contact Center stakeholders in business solution planning, development, and testing activities.
  • Lead requirements gathering and testing efforts in collaboration with the team to ensure comprehensive capture of stakeholder requirements and satisfaction of acceptance criteria before implementing the business solution code.
  • Assist the Contact Center Technology team with tasks such as code item creation, iteration, and backlog management.

Responsibilities:

  • Support Contact Center stakeholders by providing business insights in business solution planning, development, and testing activities.
  • Collaborate with the Contact Center Technology (CTI) team and stakeholders to define business solutions, ensuring alignment with business strategies, priorities, and target benefits.
  • Initiate planning and conduct business case analysis, estimating time, cost, and value for assigned work.
  • Lead requirements gathering and user story documentation in collaboration with the CTI team to capture all business requirements.
  • Work with stakeholders to clarify and refine requirements as needed.
  • Discuss requirements with the team to ensure clear understanding and coordinate the translation of business requirements into functional designs.
  • Assist in identifying, verifying, and documenting technical requirements using appropriate methodologies and tools.
  • Lead testing activities with the team to ensure completeness, capture user feedback, and satisfy acceptance criteria before implementing the business solution code.
  • Support the CTI team with activities like code item creation, iteration, and backlog management, including reviewing and prioritizing proposed technology initiatives.
  • Maintain support documentation, such as working backlogs.
  • Facilitate communication between the team and relevant stakeholders, fostering coordination and collaboration.
  • Develop relationships with stakeholders, manage expectations, and monitor satisfaction levels.
  • Implement a consistent approach for capturing and acting on user feedback.
  • Conceptualize and document integrated business processes, relating them to the IT platforms used by stakeholders to achieve their work programs.
  • Analyze and research relevant new and existing products and procedures.
  • Identify and resolve gaps between business processes and supporting applications.
  • Ensure process compliance with established quality standards in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Selection Criteria:

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of business and computer science/engineering acquired through 4 years of University Training, demonstrating a solid academic foundation.
  • Strong experience with ERPs, with strong emphasis on SAP S/4Hana (ideally 3+ years)
  • 8 + years of comprehensive experience in IT and Business domains.
  • Proficiency in business functions, IT planning, management, and project/portfolio management.
  • Expertise in application testing, deployment, operations support, and requirements gathering.
  • Extensive experience in project management, business relationship management, and business process management.
  • Familiarity with agile planning and foundational capabilities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including facilitation.
  • Additional skills in user experience design are considered an asset.
