Technical Delivery Manager (Agile)
Location: Remote (Across Canada) – will not be in office at all

Position Summary
The Technical Delivery Manager oversees the managing of all technology components for complex transformational programs including the overall planning, management, and completion of IT deliverables through the entire project life cycle.  This role is accountable for the delivery of competitive business, regulatory and strategic project initiatives and the management of IT related timelines, project risk and cross team communications. The Technical Delivery Manager will help to assess the accuracy of business, functional and technical requirements, manage project roles, identify resource requirements, define project deliverables, provide customer satisfaction, and ensure quality of projects.  The Technical Delivery Manager will play a critical role in being the conduit between the IT subject matter experts, the PMO, and the Business lines to ensure project success.

The ideal candidate has a technology background and experience in transformational and modernization projects within the financial industry and proven technical project delivery experience.  The Technical Delivery Manager must demonstrate a strong understanding of the IT Business Model and Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) as well as project management processes and execution. This role is accountable for ensuring the timely delivery of quality deliverables related to enhancing, supporting, maintaining, and monitoring information systems.

Responsibilities

  1. Defines technology project scope and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management, PMO and other stakeholders. 
  2. Develops full-scale project plans and associated communications documents as required. Creates resource plans, project plans and timelines, work breakdown streams, tracks project timelines, milestones and deliverables using appropriate tools.
  3. Manages the budget for the initiative
  4. Effectively communicates project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
  5. Determines and assesses need for additional staff and/or consultants and make the appropriate recruitments, if necessary, during project cycle.
  6. Sets and continually manages project expectations with team members, PMO and other stakeholders.
  7. Proactively manages changes in project scope, identifies and mitigates potential risks, and devises contingency plans.
  8. Guides the team through problem resolution
  9. In collaboration with business line PMO, provides input to define project success criteria and disseminates them to involved parties throughout project life cycle.
  10. Identifies and manages project and portfolio dependencies and critical path.
  11. Coaches, mentors, motivates and supervises project team members and contractors, and influences them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
  12. Conducts project postmortems and creates a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
  13. Develops best practices and tools for project execution and management.

Requirements

  • 8 + years in an Agile PM or Scrum Master role
  • Experience working in large enterprise level financial institutions
  • Experience delivering on a variety of technology projects (Ideally both infra and application, but either or is fine)
  • Strong personalities who can manage conflicts, run scrum teams, and handle stakeholders when needed
  • Delivering on software/application/infrastructure upgrade projects
