Sr. Business Systems Analyst
- Contract: 6 months to start, with possibility to extension (37.5 hrs/week)

The Role
We’re seeking an experienced Sr. Business Systems Analyst to join and support our client’s Direct to Consumer (D2C) Channel within a high-visibility area of the business. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with both business and technical stakeholders and make impactful contributions to the team. We’re looking for a seasoned BSA with strong industry knowledge, who can bring a blend of strong analytical capabilities, technical understanding, and exceptional communication skills to help drive key initiatives forward.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to gather, define, and manage business requirements from high-level strategic goals down to detailed user stories.
- Facilitate workshops, presentations, and product demos with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
- Analyze backend systems, integrations, and data architectures to ensure alignment with customer journey impacts and business goals.
- Translate complex problems into actionable solutions, leveraging your ability to work independently and proactively.
- Partner with internal and external teams to ensure clear documentation and understanding of requirements throughout the delivery lifecycle.
Key Requirements
- 5-7+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst or highly related role, with demonstrated success in gathering, analyzing, and translating business requirements into technical specifications.
- Proven experience supporting digital customer channels, ideally in Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) or similar high-impact, customer-facing platforms.
- Exceptional communication skills—able to clearly and confidently interact with stakeholders, senior leaders, technical teams, and business users.
- Strong facilitation and presentation skills, with the ability to lead requirement workshops, product demos, and discussions across cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to work across all layers of requirements—from high-level strategic initiatives to detailed user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Technical proficiency, including:
- Experience with backend systems and data integration
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs, service orchestration, and data flow mapping
- Understanding of data lake architecture and analytics platforms
- Comfort reviewing and interpreting system documentation, process flows, and technical specifications
- Ability to think end-to-end and evaluate how changes impact the entire customer journey—not just isolated features or systems.
- Independent and self-motivated—able to operate with minimal supervision in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze abstract concepts and propose structured, actionable solutions.
- Prior experience working in or with a consulting firm is highly desirable, demonstrating comfort with ambiguity, client engagement, and structured delivery methods.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe) and experience writing user stories, maintaining backlogs, and working in iterative development cycles.
- Financial services or insurance industry experience is a strong asset, particularly with regulatory, compliance, or customer engagement systems.
- Proficiency with requirements management tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Advanced degrees (e.g., MBA, MS in Information Systems) or professional certifications such as CBAP, PMI-PBA, Agile/SAFe certifications are considered strong assets.
