About the Project & Role:
Our client is a leading global consulting firm, working closely with a major insurance provider. The next phase of their current project is set to begin in mid November, and will focus on the customer experience; the digital component. They are seeking a Lead Front End Developer with extensive Angular experience, because they’re building and rebuilding from scratch. Background in the insurance sector is a strong asset, but not required. This individual must also be a strong communicator and have the expertise to mentor the team, and provide directions from an architecture perspective.
Responsibilities:
-
Front end development at a senior or lead level, with the ability to provide Angular architecture directives and advisement
-
Provide coaching & mentorship to junior developers (2-4 developers at the various stages of development)
-
Work closely with the project and back end teams, within principles and guidelines that have already been set out – ensure that solutions adhere to development best practices & architectural principles
-
Lead & coach teams to provide the right inputs, review pull requests, and maintain the expected quality from outputs of the team
-
Review the velocity and scoping (scoping will be done already, but as it relates to the smaller subset team)
-
UX and visual design will have already been done, so this role will be responsible for transposing the looking field into what is actually tangible
Requirements:
-
University Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or related field
-
7+ years of experience with Angular, or 5+ years with Angular, combined with a few years of React experience
-
Sound technical background in Angular architecture, as it relates to making key decisions relating to scalability, etc. (this is critical as this team will be going Greenfield on the project; while they have the existing capability which can be used to look at what does and doesn’t work, they’re building and rebuilding it from scratch)
-
Previous experience as a lead or senior developer, and ability to provide mentorship to junior developers (2-4 developers at the various stages of development)
-
Knowledge in Java/J2EE and Spring Boot middleware for microservices
- Strong knowledge of SDLC and experience working in an Agile Team environment
- Experience in the insurance sector would be a strong asset
