Position: Client Reference Business Data Analyst

Term: 12-Month Contract

Location: Toronto

What is the opportunity?

The Client Reference Business Data Analyst will lead analysis activities for the reference data projects across various data domains including but not limited to Repository System, CRM, Client Analytics, and Sales Reporting.

Primarily responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Partner with business stakeholders and technical teams who are responsible for building, modifying, and maintaining the client reference data, client relationship management, sales revenue reporting, and client analytics systems to understand business needs, document requirement specifications, and work with technology teams to define and present solution proposals.

  • Work with team members across the client technology platforms to define the scope and impact of reference data projects and effectively communicate downstream impact in the organization.

  • Collaborate with business users, Client Onboarding, and Data Management teams to: identify and remediate client reference data issues; implement tactical and strategic solutions; ensure proper business and governance processes are established.

  • Work with Stakeholders, Product Teams, and Project Management to define the scope, requirements, and priorities for the Client Relationship Hierarchy.

  • Act as the conduit and knowledge source between the Business Stakeholders and IT operations to facilitate and verify the solution design process (proof of concept) to ensure it aligns with the business requirements.

  • Support and inform the Analysis, Development, QA, and UAT phases.

  • Utilize tools such as SQL and Excel to perform analysis against existing data.

  • Strive for continuous improvements of our processes, application designs, and application execution.

  • Facilitate the efforts to enhance client mapping visualizations and search functions in our analytics, reporting, and CRM tools

  • Ensure Confluence and project tracking files are updated with requirements, statuses, and business engagement information.

  • Present analysis and status updates to all levels of management.

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or similar

  • Understanding of client onboarding process, client hierarchy, client reference management, and client relationship management.

  • General knowledge of financial products and concepts across capital market

  • Knowledge of the different types of trade capture systems, trade lifecycle, CRM, client analytics, and sales revenue reporting is a plus

  • Experience in facilitating and enabling business change and achieving consensus across multiple stakeholders

  • Ability to develop high-quality and clear technical and business requirement documents

  • Good understanding of data governance and management practices

  • Knowledge of SQL reporting/query tools and Excel.

  • Understanding the data flows, data requirements, data management, and controls

  • Knowledge of data analysis techniques, languages, software, and systems

  • Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills

  • Team player with excellent interpersonal and motivational skills

  • Proactive attitude, ability to work independently, and a desire to continuously learn new skills and technologies

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to collect, organize and analyze significant amounts of information with accuracy

  • Ability to conduct analysis on the data using database querying, excel, and other methods

  • Effectively engage with all stakeholders to determine, document, and validate business and user requirements using applicable techniques (e.g. user stories & acceptance criteria, business rules, use cases, process flows etc.) and provide technical solutions that benefits the business.

  • Proactive in identifying issues and recommending solutions

  • A critical thinker who uses logic to identify alternatives, evaluate, and present approaches to solve complex problems

  • An excellent communicator of complex (often technical) information to various audiences

  • Detail-oriented, careful, and thorough in accomplishing tasks

  • Excellent multi-tasker capable of handling multiple projects at any one time

  • Proactive in making recommendations for process improvement.
  • Consistent in meeting goals and expectations, using time management skills to prioritize and complete various activities independently as well as part of a team.
