Our client, a pioneer in the Digital Health industry is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Business Systems Analyst (BSA) to join their team on a contract basis, with potential of going FTE. This role will focus on ensuring that business requirements are gathered, analyzed, and translated into system specifications to support successful project outcomes. The BSA will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Information Services, Privacy & Security, Engineering, Product, Client Support, and Delivery, to ensure that business needs are addressed and that project deliverables meet stakeholder expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with internal stakeholders (including engineering, product, and client support teams) to gather and document detailed business and system requirements. Analyze business processes and identify opportunities for improvement, streamlining workflows, and enhancing system functionality.
  • Create functional specifications, system designs, and documentation for projects. Ensure that the requirements are clear, actionable, and well-communicated to technical teams. Maintain technical documentation, including process workflows, use cases, and user stories.
  • Act as the bridge between business teams and technical teams. Facilitate communication to ensure that all stakeholders are informed of project timelines, milestones, and changes. Ensure that business requirements are effectively translated into technical solutions that meet the needs of the business.
  • Work with project managers and cross-functional teams to help define the scope, objectives, and resources needed for each project. Track project milestones, deadlines, and deliverables to ensure that systems are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
  • Support user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure the system meets business needs. Provide feedback during testing cycles and assist in resolving issues. Validate that the final solution aligns with the original business requirements.
  • Handle changes in scope, requirements, or priorities by working with the project team to assess the impact and propose new solutions. Identify and troubleshoot issues that arise during the project lifecycle, collaborating with teams to implement corrective actions.
  • Provide support to end users and internal teams post-implementation, ensuring that the systems meet ongoing business needs. Help to document best practices and knowledge for future reference.
  • Provide regular updates on project status, risks, issues, and timelines to stakeholders. Track the progress of key deliverables and ensure that project documentation is up-to-date.
  • Ensure that all documentation complies with privacy, security, and confidentiality policies. Help maintain internal processes, documentation, and standard operating procedures.

Requirements:

  • Experience:
    At least 3+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst or in a similar role, particularly in systems implementation, business requirements gathering, and process analysis. Experience in the healthcare or technology sectors is preferred.

  • Technical Skills:
    Strong experience with system design, documentation tools, and business analysis techniques. Familiarity with tools like Jira, Confluence, Visio, and any project management software. Understanding of databases, cloud systems, and technical specifications is a plus.

  • Healthcare Knowledge:
    Knowledge of healthcare standards (such as HL7, FHIR, CDA) and regulatory requirements, including HIPAA, is a plus.

  • Analytical Thinking:
    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down complex business problems and propose clear, actionable solutions.

  • Communication Skills:
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and facilitate effective collaboration between business and technical teams.

  • Project Management Understanding:
    Familiarity with project management processes and tools. Ability to track project progress, manage timelines, and collaborate on cross-functional projects.

  • Education:
    Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Healthcare Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
  • Certification in Business Analysis (CBAP, CCBA, or similar).
  • Familiarity with cloud-based systems, SaaS solutions, or enterprise applications.
